Turkey time zone
Turkey uses Türkiye Time (TRT), UTC+3, all year. One zone covers the whole country, both sides of the Bosphorus. The IANA zone is Europe/Istanbul.
Until 2016 Turkey was on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and changed its clocks with the EU. A decree published in the Official Gazette on 8 September 2016 kept summer time all year, so the clocks were not put back in October 2016, and UTC+3 became standard time. Turkey has not changed its clocks since.
Because the UK still changes and Turkey does not, the gap is 3 hours in the British winter and 2 hours in summer. Before 2016 it was 2 hours all year, so older guidebooks and booking notes can be wrong.
